Is a Credit Union Really Different Than a Bank?
You bet it is!! Credit Unions typically offer similar products to a bank, however, our approach to service is completely different. Banks are owned by a group of outside stockholders. Banks exist to maximize their profit for the benefit of their stockholders. This is typically done to the detriment of their customers.
Members in a Credit Union share a common bond, typically through their employer or community. These members pool their resources for the benefit of the group. Our sole purpose is to help our members become financially prosperous. We accomplish that goal through fairly priced products and services and through member education.
The benefits of membership in a Credit Union come in many forms including lower fees, lower loan rates and higher deposit rates. In addition, Credit Unions go the extra mile to make your financial transaction, whether it's applying for a loan or cashing a check, an easy and pleasant experience.
